Originally from Yeşilöz, Güdül in Ankara, İncebey Ulubay was born in Ankara on August 27, 1975, and grew up involved in trade alongside his father during his primary school years.

Always standing out with a perspective that catches trends early, seizes opportunities, takes risks, and embraces innovation, Ulubay initiated a major transformation in the brand after acquiring the well-established Turkish coffee brand Kocatepe Kahve in 2018.

With this transformation, he developed an entirely new vision for coffee, the café industry, entrepreneurship, and the future. Analyzing the changing consumer habits during the pandemic period rapidly, Ulubay adapted Kocatepe Kahve to the dynamics of the era and launched dry coffee shops and six different coffee house concepts catering to every audience and budget, to ensure that new coffee varieties could reach homes and workplaces in the freshest way possible.

Thus, various coffee brands such as Kocatepe 1919 Kurukahvecisi, Coffee 1919, Coffee Big Hill, Cofigo, Coffee Gate, and Kocatepe 1919 Kahve Evi were born. However, for Ulubay, taste trends and achievements have not been limited to coffee alone. By introducing different cultures and global trends to the country, he launched brands like “Oppa Korean Street Food,” representing Korean cuisine, the chocolate café “Choco Donna,” and the new-generation restaurant “Boslotus.”

Today, under the umbrella of Time Food Group Franchise Systems Inc., Ulubay manages more than 15 brands across different product and business areas, providing employment to thousands of people, managing one of Turkey’s largest brand portfolios, and sharing this experience by engaging in various sectors.

Established 1919 – 1929

Kocatepe Kurukahvecisi was founded by Madam Marusia in the Kocatepe Neighborhood of Ankara during the difficult times of the War of Independence. The solid foundations of the brand were laid during these years with the careful roasting of coffee and the development of quality standards.

Entering the Retail Industry 1949 – 1966

In 1949, the “Kocatepe 1949” brand was introduced to coffee enthusiasts by Nurettin Tunçay, taking its place on market shelves. With its competitive pricing policy and unique packaging, Kocatepe coffee became a brand recognized all over Turkey.

Kocatepe Coffee House 1996 – 2013

In 1996, Haluk Tunçay brought Turkey’s first “Coffee House” concept to life, bringing coffee enthusiasts together with a different experience. Carefully brewed coffee varieties and the flavors accompanying coffee were served to guests in a refined environment.

Kocatepe quickly grew with the franchise system and became Turkey’s first “Coffee House” brand. With over 70 branches, Kocatepe Coffee House earned the title of Turkey’s first chain coffee house.

With its large portions, single cup size, and single price policy, it offers easy choices and satisfying purchases, becoming a pioneer in the industry.
  • Coffee Big Hill is a self-service coffee house concept designed for spaces with a total indoor and outdoor area of over 400 m². Thanks to its average store size, it can open stores in every needed region and reach a broader audience. In addition to offering large cup options, it also sells small-sized cups, positioning itself as a strong brand not only in quality but also in price competition.

  • Kocatepe 1919 Kahve Evi is a well-established concept born in 1996 as Turkey’s first franchise coffee house model. This unique setup, established in spaces of at least 700 m², combines an open kitchen, working area, self-service, and table service, offering both traditional flavors and modern coffee varieties in a spacious and transparent environment appealing to all age groups.

  • Coffee Gate is a sustainable transition concept that transforms an existing business into one of the coffee brands under the Time Food Group umbrella with minimal cost. Preserving all usable areas such as floors, walls, and kitchens, Coffee Gate introduces a new brand identity while aiming to maximize business with minimal investment and reintegrate national wealth into the economy without waste. Its menu structure and brand language are specially tailored to the region and needs.

  • Cofigo is a compact coffee point designed for fast consumption needs. It can be adapted to different spaces ranging from 9 m² to 400 m² and can be set up as fixed or mobile units. With the slogan “On the Go,” it offers coffee and beverage service without requiring seating areas, suitable for locations such as drive-thrus, shopping mall kiosks, or seaside promenades. Its menu includes ready, portable products that require no kitchen preparation and are easily accessible. It provides a practical, flexible, and economical solution for both operators and consumers.

  • Kocatepe 1919 Kurukahvecisi, established under the leadership of Madame Marussia, is a brand with a 105-year history and is the foundation of Kocatepe. With its freshly roasted coffees, it caters to both retail customers and commercial businesses. Customers can buy their coffee fresh, while restaurants can procure quality coffee at affordable prices. It offers a wide range including Turkish coffee, filter coffee, and espresso varieties.
