Established in 1919 by Madam Marusia in Kocatepe Neighborhood of Ankara during the challenging days of the Turkish War of Independence, Kocatepe has transformed its passion for coffee into a tradition. With the slogan “We are Coffee from the Bean,” it continues to be one of the most important representatives of world coffees and Turkish coffee.

In 1929, during Burhanettin Koçer’s era, with the proliferation of “Kocatepe 1919 Kurukahvecisi” shops, the fame of the Kocatepe brand transcended the borders of Anatolia and spread throughout Turkey.

In 1949, Nurettin Tuncer took over the brand, making coffee accessible to all budgets and offering it for sale on supermarket shelves with sub-brands such as “Kocatepe 1949” and “Nurettin Kocatepe.” However, the recipe and flavor standards of these products sold on supermarket shelves differ from the original flavors found in “Kocatepe 1919 Kurukahvecisi” and “Kocatepe Kahve Evleri.”

In 2013, the roasting and distribution authority for Kocatepe’s packaged supermarket products was transferred to Altın Çekirdek Hasan Yıldırım company, and this authority continues to this day.

In 2018, İncebey Ulubay, CEO of Time Food Group, who took over the Kocatepe Kahve brand, aims to deliver Kocatepe coffees across Turkey and worldwide through “Kocatepe 1919 Kurukahvecisi” shops, adhering to Madam Marusia’s recipes.
